Submission Guidelines for travel writers, bloggers, photographers, and artists
We love sharing unique travel destinations, strange places, stunning photography, off-beat hikes, hidden gems, and all things delightfully curious.
If you’re a writer, photographer, or creative artist who’d like to have your work published on our website, we will do our best to feature it! But before you send along your unique awesomeness, please read through our submission guidelines below and our Terms of Use & Privacy Policy to make sure you understand our policies. By sending any material to us, you acknowledge that you understand and agree with our publishing policies.
What We’re Looking For:
➞ Authentic, punchy, and fun-to-read travel articles of over 1,000 words written from direct experience and featuring a unique destination not already published on this website. We ADORE hidden gems, so if you’ve recently visited an off-beat town, roadside attraction, unusual hike, or other weirdness, send it on! We will 100% prioritize articles with images taken by the author. With that said, we can also source stock photography, so if your article does not have images, it’s not necessarily a deal-breaker.
➞ Stunning travel photography, including but not limited to photo essays, landscapes, deep sky photography, destination photography, and fine art photography. We’re also interested in articles about your experience as a photographer. We don’t want to just feature your work, we want to feature YOU! After all, this website was founded by a photographer and celebrates photography and art in all its amazing formats. We will feature your work in our photography section, and also backlink to your portfolio site and/or social platforms which will help with organic rankings. Don’t have a portfolio site? ➞ Your unique art! We love supporting creatives and artists. If you’d like your work seen by more people, perhaps directing more buyers to your portfolio, platform, or place you sell your work, we want to feature it!
What to Expect Upon Submission:
➞ You can expect a response! That’s right, we will do our best to get back to you within a week of you sending your work to us. If we are able to feature your work, we will send you more information about when and where this will be featured on our website. There might be some back-and-forth questions and things as well. We’ll get to that, but first, you need to send us your work. Get on that below!
➞ You can expect credit for your work and backlinks to your website, other creative professional platforms, and social platforms if desired.
➞ You can expect our sincerest gratitude for sharing your work with us and an earnest effort on our part to authentically share your unique vision.
What We’re NOT Looking For:
➞ Travel articles written by marketing professionals with the sole objective of obtaining a backlink. If you represent a brand that’s looking to connect with our audience, we’ve got two cool options for you.
➞ Content that doesn’t fit the content scope of this website and platform.
➞ Affiliate marketing opportunities. We’re all set there, thanks.
➞ Poorly written and unresearched material.
➞ Previously published material.
Do We Pay or Charge for Featuring Your Work?
➞ For authentic travel writers, bloggers, photographers, and artists looking to share their work with us, we do not charge a publication fee nor do we pay for submissions. We try to repay your contribution by sharing your work with our audience. Currently, Travels and Curiosities has 5,000+ organic site visitors and over 150k impressions across Google per month. Our site averages a 20+ domain authority. We also have over 2k followers and 100k monthly site visitors on Pinterest and about 1.5k followers on Instagram.
