Even though we didn’t really care about the money-making when launching this site, we’re now educating ourselves about the various income-earning practices of other bloggers so we can keep Travels and Curiosities alive while also expanding our offerings, such as with our new travel savings strategies. And what we’ve learned is that even these high-income bloggers once struggled, with some of them eventually turning to online courses to learn how to turn their blog into a successful business. Among the many options out there I’ve personally researched, the courses at Create and Go have helped us grow a real following (and traffic!) using Pinterest, while also understanding ways to monetize our site in this curious and strange world of blogging. Create and Go is founded by Alex and Lauren, just a normal couple that stumbled onto blogging as a way to get out of their “soul-sucking 9-5 jobs.” For Alex and Lauren, blogging wasn’t an instant success. Their first blog failed, and their second took many months to monetize. But their hard work, trial and error, and determination eventually paid off. Their August 2020 income, for instance, was $124,621.56! That income is the result of their two websites, Create and Go, which offers resources and education for bloggers, and Avocadu, a health and wellness blog. And in case you missed it, that income is just for one freakin’ month. Their Launch Your Blog Biz is a step-by-step guide on everything from setting up your blog to learning how to identify your target customers and everything in between. We’ve also used their Pinterest Traffic Avalanche course, which helps anyone learn how to maximize the power of Pinterest for business growth. After implementing the strategies in the Pinterest course, our growth on this one platform has skyrocketed from zilch to @1k followers and @300,000 monthly viewers in just about a year. Pinterest now accounts for over 60% of all traffic to Travels and Curiosities, and it’s all the result of implementing the strategies in the course. Even if you have zero desire to become a blogger, these strategies apply to every single business, creative or otherwise, or really anyone looking to promote through this powerful marketing tool. Whew! We realize this was a bit of a long email. But we really wanted to take the time to share the financial potential blogging can bring, in case any of you have considered it but don’t know where to begin. If you have knowledge others could benefit from, this might very well be an avenue you can explore to make even some side income and start exploring the world on your own terms. 😉
